I never thought I would name a brand after myself. Honestly, for most of my life I hated my name. There were also times I hated who I was. Growing up adopted in a small town in Iowa, I struggled with knowing who I was, where I belonged, and why God gave me the story He did.
When I started thinking about this brand, putting Anteres Ashley on it was the last thing I wanted to do. But the closer I got to God, the more I started to understand something—I was spending so much time trying to become somebody else that I wasn’t accepting the person God already created me to be.
That’s really where ANTERES ASHLEY® started.
God has shown me that looking good isn’t just about what you put on your body. It starts on the inside. If you can look inside your heart and accept who God created you to be, you’ll feel bold on the outside about who you’re supposed to be. That’s what LOOK GOOD – FEEL BOLD® means to me.
The clothes are an extension of that. I want you to put on Anteres Ashley and feel good in it, but more than anything, I want this brand to stand for being confident in who God created you to be. You don’t have to be somebody else. You don’t have to have somebody else’s story. There is purpose in yours.
That’s also why putting my own name on this means so much to me now. Something I used to hate became something I was willing to put across everything I create. I couldn’t have written that story myself. God did that.
BOLD•I is our first collection, but Anteres Ashley was never meant to stop there. I want to create clothing, shoes, and whatever else God gives me the opportunity to create. I have big dreams for where this can go, but I never want to forget why it started or who made it possible.
No matter how far this brand goes, we will never deny God.
This isn’t just the story of a clothing brand. It’s a piece of my testimony. It’s learning to accept the name I was given, the life I was given, and the person God created me to be.
